It’s the end of term and the end of the academic year of 2023/24. We’ve been privileged to speak with even more edtech and industry thought leaders this year, and the insight they provide us and our community is invaluable.
So thank you to Lyndon Stickley & Sam Curtis of Iplicit on the importance of change in the education sector, and the need for flexibility and adaptability in finance and management systems.
We were delighted to welcome Pete Collison of Compass Education who talked to us about the ongoing challenges schools face such as teacher recruitment, budget constraints, and managing pupils with special educational needs, and how Compass addresses these through their MIS solution.
Thank you to Izzi Dorrian and Ed Butcher, founders of the brilliant Habitude workflow platform for MATs, for talking to us about how they aim to solve slow, unreliable or lost admin by connecting people, platforms and data into trackable workflows.
It’s great to speak with experts from across the sector so thank you to Ben McGowan of Ted Wragg Multi Academy Trust and Procurement & Strategic Sourcing Specialist Simon Denham for giving us your insights on MIS procurement exercises, and the best ways to help schools and MATs navigate procurement processes effectively.
Thanks to Ollie Burnett of Coventry City Council School Support Team for giving us an insight into their work supporting schools, migrating schools to Bromcom, and plans for the future.
And finally, our chat with Richard Clutterbuck, Headteacher of Cirencester Deer Park School (part of Corinium Education Trust) is essential listening for everyone who owns or leads an edtech business; he highlights the importance not only of technological advancements and AI, but also user-friendly interfaces and effective support – thanks for the great advice.
We’ve thoroughly enjoyed making the series and already have some great sessions ready to go in the new term – watch this space!
